Infinity Gauntlet custom paint job

Had a really fun day today!! Thought I would take my cheap $20 Infinity Gauntlet I got from Target and give it a little paint job! This is a very easy process and if you would like to give it a shot, here are the materials and a few tips on how to do this yourself. Here is the list of items I used and where I got them:

Michaels:
- Chip Brush By ArtMinds: $1.07
- Artist's Loft Metallic Acrylic Paint, 4 oz: $4.28
- Craft Smart® Acrylic Paint, 2 oz.: $4.50

Home Depot:
- Plasti Dip 11 oz. Black: $5.98
- Masking Tape: $3
Walmart:
- Elmer's Poster Tack Putty: $2.19

What you want to do first is remove the batteries and their cover to prime separate
Next take the Tack putty and cover all of the gems (work very well to protect them from getting unwanted primer and/or paint on them

Now take the Gauntlet and put it somewhere you don't mind getting a little spray on. Get about arms length away and get a nice coat of plasti dip on the gauntlet. If the gauntlet has more plastic showing then desired give it another small spray or two.  *Remember you can always put a little more on but you cant remove it* Do the same thing to the battery cover. Now let them sit for a minute or two, it doesn't take long for it to dry but you want to make sure it dries thoroughly.

Next, for the rubber part of the guantlet (the fingers), you want to do a thin coat of black acrylic paint over them. The Plasti Dip makes the rubber sticky and when you dry brush it will take it off. Then, if you like, put the battery cover back on, or paint separately.  

Once that drys you are ready to start giving the gauntlet the look it deserves!! Get a couple paper towels (or some thing to put the paint on). Put the paint on then dip the brush (and yes I mean this) wipe as much paint off your brush as you can then begin painting the gauntlet. It's going to take some time and towards the end it's going to seem like you're not putting anything on the gauntlet but you are. It's putting dry layer on top of dry layer on top of dry layer. This is how you get that used damaged look. Remember try to get as much paint off the brush as possible and it doesn't need to be all gold when finished. After you're finished just remove the blue putty! But be careful you may take off a little of the dry plasti dip off with the putty if not careful

Target Exclusive Thanos Pop!

Was really lucky I was able to get my hands on a Target Exclusive 10" Thanos Pop! Here is my review!

Overall, really love the piece and glad I am able to add it to my collection!

Infinity Gauntlet #2

(I apologize in advance for how choppy this post is. Working on how to summarize better) 

The second issue of this series starts off with Thanos wearing a maniacal grin. Thanos is very pleased with himself at how easy his task was with the aid of the Infinity Gauntlet.

 The story then cuts to the Avengers aiding people in a plane crash in front of a Cathedral, one of the many catastrophes happening around the globe. Then we see Wendall Vaughin in his office working. He then hears the voice of Epoch, the mentor of Quasar. He turns to look at Epoch, turns into Quasar, and take off. Next, we see the Kree empire observing the disappearance of half their people and blaming their greatest adversaries, the Skrull. Now we are back with Dr. Strange and the Silver Surfer. Luckily Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, is with them observing the Silver Surfer in his disoriented condition. After examining the Surfer Pym deducts that he won't be able to help him and has to leave. Then one of Strange's helpers is trying to get his attention but Strange enters a daze due to Adam Warlock trying to contact him.

Adam informs of what is going on and tells Strange that he will need him help along with others. Stephen is cautious and tells him that he must convince him and his companions that will aid him. Adam warns him that in order for the obstacles he faces he must meld souls with him. Strange knows there are risks as to what will happen but with everything going on it is a risk he must take. As they meld Stephen sees what Adam has seen and knows, now trusting Adam. Strange now understands what is going on and will help in any way he can. 

    

    The next page we see computer screens with maps of the universe and other world. Doctor Doom is aware that with the disappearances of people on Earth and knows there is an outside force tampering with "his" people. Doom believes this is an opportunity to expand on his scientific knowledge and power. 

    It then cuts to Drax and Eros, Starfox, investigating the disappearances of the population. Suddenly Eros disappears and finds himself confined to a chair with his brother, Thanos, looking at him. Thanos welcomes him to the "family reunion." Introducing Mistress Death as his love and pointing out Nebula below them. Eros points out that it's not a family reunion without their father. Thanos turns to his brother and states that he was not invited nor will he be there. The reason being is that The Mentor (their father) was among those who disappeared and Thanos made sure of it because he would have tried to stop him. he brandishes the Infinity Gauntlet telling him that nothing must interfere with his "Holy" mission. Eros grins manically and 'offers' his help (Eros' power allows him to manipulate ones emotions with his voice. Also, Eros doesn't care for his brother). But Thanos senses Eros' intention and stops him.

    We then see Captain America tallying all heroes who have gone missing. There is a scene of Captain America working with the Avengers, Odin and the Father's of other Pantheons discussing events at hand, Quasar speaking with Epoch, and then Pip being hurled due to the explosion of Adam emerging from his cocoon and leaving. 

    Then we see Silver Surfer waking up to Dr. Doom standing over him and his henchmen subduing Dr. Strange and his servant. Silver Surfer tries to stop Doom but is to weak to take him on. With the Surfer out of the way Dr. Doom turns to Dr. Strange and demands the information that the Surfer has passed onto him. Suddenly, the robots restraining Strange and his assistant get ripped apart by Adam Warlock

    We go back to Thanos torturing Nebula and Eros. Thanos, with a enjoyment on his face, asks if his gesture is amusing. Mephisto whispers to Thanos that his Mistress is indeed not amused. He relieves Eros and Nebula of their torment. Eros looks up to see Thanos grinning manically above him and he is scarred knowing that with Thanos' mind with the Infinity Stones, anything in his twisted imagination is possible. 

    Again we are back at the Sanctorum as Adam Warlock sums up the events of Thanos Quest and Silver Surfer's encounter with Thanos and his gauntlet. He warns everyone present that he must lead those who will fight Thanos. 

    Back to Thanos tormenting Eros and Nebula in a different way. Again asking if his gesture amuses her, but again she is not. Thanos asks, with anger, what he must do to amuse her. He exclaims that he has given and done everything for her yet she still does not give her approval. 

 And in his anger, a wave of of immense psychic force bursts from the monument and destroys a Red Giant Star. But that was only the beginning, the wave continued and destroyed everything in its path. Including a planet the Galactus was about to consume. This was not the first planet that Thanos cheated out of Galactus. And now Galactus is on a quest of vengeance. 

    We then see Earth in chaos due to the psychic wave. Buildings are falling and streets cracking open. We also see Ironman in space taking readings then suddenly his instrument explodes making him plummet to Earth. He quickly recovers to see a tsunami engulfing the coast. He knows there isn't much he can do but he must try. Luckily he encounters a few members of the Avengers in a Quinjet with the same objective that he has. But they were to late. The wave already took the millions of lives before they could react.

   

    We then see Asgard broken and crumbling. The wave shattered the rainbow bridge and left Asgard nearly in ruins. Odin sees the rainbow bridge and hangs his head for he and the other pantheon fathers are stuck on Asgard. Now Odin feels helpless and responsible that the other fathers cannot go back and protect their homes.

    

    Back to Earth see Namor diving into the water to see volcanoes rising from the ocean floor and knows that this event will cause Tidal waves on the US Eastern coast. Cutting to Namoritas (a mutant clone of Namor's cousin, Namora) flying over New York saving a few people before the gargantuan wave taking the city out and all who fell under it. Thor flies over Japan to find that it too has been claimed by a tidal wave. Back at Avengers HQ the Avengers are calling anyone who will help and accepting help where ever it comes from.

    

     

But back at the Sanctum Sanctorum, Adam Warlock knows exaclty what has caused this catastrophe

The Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Gauntlet #1 event

After the events in Thanos Quest, the story continues in Silver Surfer #44 where Thanos has embedded them into one of his gauntlets creating The Infinity Gauntlet.

After experiencing his new found god hood he realizes that he must remove the nuisance who is the Silver Surfer. (In Silver Surfer #34-38 the Surfer has the vision of Thanos being resurrected. Thanos seeks out the Surfer to convince him to join him in his cause but the Surfer does not buy into it and tries to stop him. Drax is also resurrected who's soul purpose is to destroy Thanos.)  Thanos opens a portal to between him, the Surfer, and Drax. Drax sees Thanos and immediately runs to fulfill his life purpose and the Surfer tries to stop him knowing that it's a trap but both get sucked in. Drax and Silver Surfer both fall confused as to what happened. When Drax gets over his confusion he looks to Thanos and goes after him. Thanos tells Drax (Condescendingly) to calm down and to quite shouting. He then shows Surfer and Drax the prehistoric era of the planet they are on and then the last day. At first Silver Surfer and Drax believe it to be an illusion but then realize it truly is reality. Thanos boasts his use of the Time Gem and changes its color to orange.

After we see the three over New York then the planet once more confusing the Silver Surfer. He points out that he did not sense any teleportation and that could not be. We then see Thanos circled around the Surfer and Drax saying that it is true that we (the multiple Thanos') could be anywhere and nowhere, distance no meaning anymore because of the Space Gem and turns it purple.

 After his demonstration of his control over space Drax begins to yell Thanos then attacks the Silver Surfer stating he will kill him. Thanos explains that he has manipulated the very essence of his soul. Leaving the center gem of the gauntlet green. 

While Drax has the Surfer by the throat Thanos explains how he finds it funny how in the last moments, their life flashes before their eyes but it was not the body responding to the impending doom it was Thanos who was manipulating the Surfer's mind with the gem. Thanos then turns the Mind gem blue.

Then Thanos demonstrates the power of the Reality stone by twisting the very fabric around them then turning the stone yellow.

Lastly we see Drax and Silver Surfer trying to escape the grasp of a large Thanos telling them that they must accept what they have seen and nothing is impossible for him and he may do anything with the cosmos for he also controls all the power in the universe and changes the Power gem red.

After showing off his new found power the Silver Surfer is still in denial and calls Thanos a liar. Thanos, with all sincerity, tells Surfer that what he has seen was all true and he could do nothing to stop him. Silver Surfer and Drax try to stop him but their defeat is inevitable. With the Surfer and Drax at his feet Thanos boasts his power, his invincibility, and he who is now a supreme being and none can challenge his godly might. (A quick summary of Silver Surfer #45, we see Mephisto has been keeping an eye on Thanos and foolishly devises a plot to steal the gauntlet. Mephisto appears to Thanos and bows and "submits" himself as a humble servant. Thanos turns him away but Mephisto persists on becoming his servant and is willing to "prove" it. Thanos transports them both to a barren planet and Mephisto tells Thanos to open his mind to the stones and to truly understand what they are capable of. While Thanos is in a "daze" of his new found knowledge, Mephisto grabs the gauntlet and prides himself on besting the new god. But it was only an illusion. The gauntlet grabs Mephisto by the throat and Thanos breaks the image in Mephisto's mind. Thanos is holding Mephisto by the throat and asks him did he really believe he could so easily deceive him. Thanos drop Mephisto and the Lord of the Underworld, on his hands and knees, pleads for forgiveness and (this time) truly asks to serve Thanos.) And so starts the Infinity Gauntlet event.

(Quick note, there are a few more issues that cover what happened to Silver Surfer and Drax and their time in the Soul Gem, their encounter with Adam Warlock, and Silver Surfer crashing into Dr. Strange's Sanctum, but I won't be discussing those.)

Infinity Gauntlet starts off with Mephisto praising Thanos and asking what he can do to serve him while standing on a ledge looking at a giant rock formation spelling "GOD." Thanos tells Mephisto to silence himself and that soon the universe will be unable to deny Thanos the title of a Cosmic God. Next we see Silver Surfer crash into the Sanctum Sanctorum (The home of Dr. Strange). The Sanctorum's alarm goes off and Strange gets ready to fight the "stranger" that is on his way. Surfer crashes threw the ceiling to Strange's surprise. The Surfer moans in pain for Dr. Strange that he needs to warn him about Thanos and informs him of his visions and his confrontation with the new god. Then it cuts back to Thanos telling Mephisto that he pondered what he would do with his new found power and thought he would loose himself in the myriad of questions what he would do with it and the answer is anything he wants for a God makes no mistakes and blows up the planet they were on. It then cuts to Surfer explaining what happened in Silver Surfer #34-38 and Thanos Quest. We then see Pip the Troll talking about how he, a woman and Adam Warlock gained physical bodies after being the Soul Gem (you will read more about them later). Three "Grade-A Losers" were coming out of a bar plastered drunk. They were running from the police and took a back road. The driver forgot about a turn and drove right off the cliff. The crash killed them instantly allowing Adam, the woman, and Pip to inhabit their bodies. The woman and Pip freak out about how they are disfigured but Adam reassures them that his healing abilities were repairing their bodies and changing their biology to suit them. We then turn to see Thanos and Mephisto appearing in the Hall of Death so Thanos could once more show his love. Thanos asks Mistress Death if she would forgive him of taking his gift of resurrection to find the Infinity Gems. Death turns on him and Thanos tells her it was never his intention to wrong her and believes he did not. Yes he sought out the gems to become a supreme being but only to become her equal, one he would be worthy of her love. Death's herald informs him that Mistress Death is not his equal and that he is her superior. To Thanos, she is nothing more than a love slave to him. This is the exchange between Thanos and her herald:

T: But she is the keeper of my heart!
H: How can she find such status any less stifling? You love is bondage.

T: My love is worship!

H: The Mistress if the Hall of Dead has no need for sycopaths.

T: NO!! You are wrong! Death should be revered! Shrines should be built to her!
Thanos then has the idea to build a shrine

He summons two thrones for himself and his Mistress but she still turns away from him. Mepshisto suggests that maybe the Mistress does not realize the depths of his black soul is achieving. She is a Dark Spirit and her mate must be like her. So to prove his likeness of her he brings the body of his

"so called grand daughter" to the edge of life and death. Her body mangled and destroyed but conscience to what was going on around her. But still Mistress is not impressed by his antics. Her herald tells him that she finds his boasts empty and distasteful. Thanos looks at the herald with disgust and obliterates it. With anger in his voice, he demands that she addresses him directly or not at all. Telling her that he does not understand her attitude toward him and that all he asks is her love and approval and asks what he has done to deserve such rejection. Mephisto whispers to Thanos that maybe it's not what he has done but what he has NOT done. Thanos then remembers the duty that his Mistress tasked him with. He realizes that his quest and his love for Death had clouded his mind from what he was charged to due. He walks to the edge of the shrine raises his hand and snaps his fingers. We then see various Marvel characters witnessing the disappearance of others. It then goes back to Pip talking about how they were adjusting to their new bodies and then as he was admiring himself the woman disappeared. Pip freaked out and looked for the woman and when he realized she was really gone he rushed into Adam's room to find him in a chrysalis.

Thanos Quest (Infinity Gauntlet prelude)

With the anticipation of Avengers: Infinity War lurking closer and closer with every passing Marvel movie coming out, I thought I would do a review of Thanos Quest, the prelude to the Infinity Gauntlet event and then Infinity Gauntlet. 1st the colors of the gems:

Red: Power
Blue: Mind
Orange: Time
Green: Soul
Purple: Space
Yellow: Reality

In the comics Thanos was killed by the Avengers and thought to be gone forever. But while the Silver Surfer was roaming the universe with his new found freedom he had a vision that Thanos was resurrected by Mistress Death. Mistress Death felt that the Universe was filling up with intelligent life an it needed to be cut in half. She felt Thanos, being the powerful being he was and how well he dealt out death, was the perfect candidate for the job. Once risen Thanos went to the Infinity Well to find his inspiration for the task given to him. The well gave him the knowledge of the Soul Gems (The name of the stones before Thanos renamed them). He asked Mistress Death's permission to find the gems. Death gave him her blessing and Thanos went on his quest.

First he went to the In-Betweener "convincing" him that he was a servant of Death but did not care for his master. He bargained that if he freed him from his prison (that the cosmic beings Chaos and Order put him in) he would become his servant. The In-Betweener playing along with Thanos' own game accepted his offer and tried to smite Thanos, but only in the prison did Chaos and Order allow the In-Betweener to keep his power. So Thanos struck him and took the Soul gem leaving the In-Betweener to be punished again by Chaos and Order.

He then made his way to Tamarata, a planet in constant battle between five different warring federations for strategic value. On this planet The Champion resides because there is always a fight he can show off his might. Thanos challenges him to a fight for the planet. Thanos aggravates Champion more and more to the point he destroys the planet. The Champion boasts that he has won but Thanos points out that he didn't really seeing as he destroyed the "prize" they were fighting for in the first place. The Champion demands that Thanos take him to another planet but Thanos said he would do no such thing unless he gave him his Soul Gem. Champion agrees to the terms but not in the way Champion thought. Thanos drags Champion to a habital planet and lets him go and Champion plummets to the planets surface.

The Time Gem is the next Soul stone Thanos goes to retrieve. The gem is wielded by a Cosmic entity known as the Gardner. All the Gardner seeks is a garden of immense beauty. Thanos confronts the Gardner with the compliment that he has never seen such beauty in all his travels. The Gardner was puzzled by his statement and Thanos in former him that though he loves death he can still appreciate beauty. Thanos told the Gardner that he was there for his Soul Stone. The Gardner did not give up the gem without a fight. Thanos overcomes the Gardner with the Power Gem and takes the Time Gem from Gardner's brow.

Thanos takes time to admire the Garden as it begins to deteriorate. He looks at the Gardner and says "Unfortunately, without the Gem's aid, the Garden's beauty won't last. For that I am truly sorry, and I hope. . .That you will understand my regret, even though you can not hear my words." When we see Thanos first getting the Soul and Power Gem he is immediately thinking and plotting on how to get what he needs. But with the Gardner, he walks and has a conversation with the Gardner. After admiring the Garden that the Gardner has carefully grown. Thanos tries to convince the Gardner to submit the stone so the Garden would have a chance of surviving. Though the Gardner refused Thanos did everything to get the stone. Even after getting his prize and bringing death to someone, he is not happy about it and mourns shortly of what the Universe has lost.

The next person Thanos has on his list is the Collector, holder of the Reality gem. Thanos calls him knowing that the Collector has been keeping tabs on him. So Thanos proposes that he brings something as a trade for his gem. So Thanos warps to find The Runner who holds the Space gem. When he arrives at his destination he is puzzled that The Runner is no where to be found he looks around and suddenly The Runner destroys his chair. Thanos acts slightly frightened and cowardice. The Runner demands that Thanos reveal to him what he is planning and why he needs the gems for it. So Thanos reveals his plan and the true nature of the Infinity gems and his mission from Mistress Death. So The Runner gets cocky and says that once he takes out Thanos he will go after the gems and be the only one who knows their true nature. Then Thanos takes his chance and uses the Time gem to age him millions of years and take the Space Gem. After taking it he makes The Runner an infant. He then uses the Space gem to teleport to the Collector's Vault. Thanos offers The Runner as trade for the gem he obtains. The Collector agrees to make the trade on the condition that Thanos not interfere with him raising The Runner and Thanos agrees. As Thanos leaves Thanos tells the Collector that the Spell of Infancy is only temporary and The Runner returns to his current age.

The last and final person on Thanos' list is The Grandmaster with the Mind stone. When Thanos went to The Grandmaster, he greeted him and Thanos asked what the game would be. The Grandmaster first told Thanos that the gem they are competing for is in a matrix generator that has seven force fields, if even one of them is breached or his vital signs were to drastically change, the matrix would immediately transport the gem to a location and self-destruct to he couldn't track the location through its system. They sit down at what looks like a chess table and put on head sets. Thanos then finds himself in a suit of armor equipped with weapons. The game: last one standing wins. The two cosmic beings exchange blows until Thanos, from what seems, to gain the upper hand and win, fires his weapon and is encased in a silicon based fungus. The Grandmaster admits cheating and doing it because he to began to understand the real power of the gems. But the silicon covered Thanos falls and breaks to reveal a robot Thanos. The real Thanos, outside of the game, breaks the bored and leaves the Grandmater's mind lost. Thanos takes the stone and completes his collection that will aid his mission to destroy half of the universe's sentient life. He warps back to Mistress Death to inform that his quest is over and that She would know that all he was done and will do is out of the love he has for her. Now that he has this new found power he requests that he sit next his love as an equal. Her servants inform Thanos that she grants Thanos his wish. He sits on his thrown and and says that they will live in eternal bliss together.

Her servant replies that she says that is that is what Thanos wishes then that is how it shall be. Thanos storms off his throne demanding that he be spoken to by her, he claims to be an equal to her and should be treated as such. The servant once more speaks for Death saying that with Thanos' new found power that he is her superior and that addressing his directly would be disrespectful. In a rage Thanos destroys the servant and walks away. He tells himself that he could make her speak to him directly but that wouldn't do any good. He again stops to look into the Infinity Well. He ponders how a being such as himself who is a master schemer and deceiver could have miscalculated the outcome. And also realizes that his new found Godhood is a hollow victory without his Mistress.

My theory for the Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tales after credits(Ar! There Be Spoilers Ahead! Sail At Your Own Accord)

The movie opens with a boy rummaging around a room with notes about the Flying Dutchman and a trident. The boy grabs a map from his desk and makes his way to a dingy. He rows out a few miles away from shore, looks at his map, then ties a few cannon balls to his ankles. He throws the cannon balls off the side of the boat then jumps into the water. As he sinks farther and farther we begin to see the Flying Dutchman. When the boy lands on the deck of the ship, it begins to ascend to the surface. When it does we see Will Turner come forth and call the boy Henry and it's his son. 

Henry goes on and on about finding a way to break his curse with the Trident of Poseidon. Will urges Henry to not pursue the matter and just live his life away from the sea.
(Fast Forward to the End of the movie)
Henry and Jack break the trident of Poseidon and we see Henry looking at the Flying Dutchman as Will makes his way to land. Will makes it to shore, hugs his son and share this really touching father and son moment. Then we see Elizabeth run up the hill to join them. Will is free from the Dutchman. 

NOW! After the credits we see Will and Elizabeth resting easy on a stormy night. Not long after we see the camera pan down to focus on Will as we hear a familiar lumbering thump of someone walking. The door opens and we see the shadow of a familiar hat. As the figure gets closer to the bed we see more of the shadow and reveals a squirming beard. 

The figure gets close to the bed, Will wakes in a panic, and we see the crab claw of Davy Jones. We see Will wake up, look at the door, look at Elizabeth, and he pulls her close and fall back to sleep in each others arms. The camera pans down an we see barnacles, then the screen goes black.

A lot of people have been troubled by this and think it's a continuity problem. Well here's my theory and hope it may clear some things up.

In the lore of the Pirates universe The Flying Dutchman was created to ferry souls who died at sea to the other side. This is a duty of immense responsibility in this world, not a curse. Now, yes one could argue that only being able to step foot on lad every 10yrs to enjoy the pleasures of the flesh is a curse but the duty must be filled none the less. Also, the duty was not assigned by Poseidon but Clypso (Tia Dalma). So now that Will no longer has to carry the burden of taking care of those who die at sea the Flying Dutchman still needs a captain, but who is to fill that role? No one stabbed Will's heart therefore no one takes his place. Through magic the role reverts back to the one who held it last, Davy Jones. That is why he comes back. People are also wondering why Davy Jones is still transformed and not back to his human form. Well if you remember Tia Dalma talks about the consequences of not performing the duty's of the Dutchman. If you do not ferry the souls you are transformed. I also believe it is a reflection of the soul. Sure people change but you cannot change who you are deep down.

So there's my theory thus far on why Davy Jones is back.

Government Ignorance in the MCU (Fun post, don't take to seriously please)

Is it me or does the government not understand what they say half time or spout off half cocked when shaking their fingers at Nick Furry and the Avengers? It's always bothered me since the first Thor movie how characters approach getting a grip on the supers.
To start off this little rant of mine we're going to start with the Avengers when Nick is talking to the Security Council. The Avengers have just saved the world and there are cuts to the Avengers (Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Bruce Banner [Hulk]) walking detained Loki to a location to head back to Asgard with the Tezzeract. The council asks where Loki is and Nick informs them that Thor took Loki back to Asgard and they reply "That wasn't your call. He needs to answer for his war crimes." WHAT IN THE BLUE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO TO A NORSE GOD THAT CAN MAKE PHANTASMS OF HIMSELF!?!?!?! And let's not forget that really important adjective when talking about Loki, GOD!! 


Seriously! It would take Loki a total of seconds to escape any prison here on Earth. ANY WHO!! Onwards to Captain America: Civil War, I love ranting about this scene. SO!! when Secretary of State Ross comes to Avengers headquarters he is there to let them know of the Sokovia Accords. Ross goes on saying "Thanks for your service, we owe you a debt, blah blah blah blah. But you guys are vigilantes and need to be in check, here's why (click) New York (getting blown to shit)

"OOOOK!!!! Cap want to chime in on the alternatives to that? Everytime I watch that scene this is the dialogue in my head:



Cap: Alright there Mr. "Thunderbolt" Ross let's look at the otherside of all this starting with New York. So let's just say we lost? We would be under a worldly dictatorship by an insane Norse God. That nuclear missile that was directed at the island of Manhattan? Don't stand there and look like you don't know what I'm talking about. Would have leveled the island and don't get me started on the radiation poisoning to the rest of the state. Yea, how would that have helped when the aliens were coming out of a HOLE IN SPACE!!!! Yea, shall I continue on the matter? No, ok onto Washington. You're welcome there buster!! Do you even know what was going to happen if Sam, Hill, and I hadn't had those helicarriers shoot themselves down? Well for one thing everyone in this room to say the very VERY least would be six feet under in a box. OK! Yea that lake was destroyed and now a cleaning crew needs to take care of all that but hey, at least only a lake needs to be cleaned out and you can shake your finger at us saying "You guys bad bad messes, now Ross needs to clean up after you boo hoo." (Turns back to Ross) NOW! Yes that was TONY'S fault, no one here is taking any blame for that one. I wanted to tear him a new one after the party which we had because we finally retrieved Loki's scepter OOOOH! but what happened (Turns to Tony) Ultron took it! (Turns back around) So Tony is to blame for that one. NOW!! Yes yes yes, many lives were lost and the world is one city short. What if we had just let Ultron to his devices and let his plan unfold? Again, we would all be dead. A city sized meteor would have crashed onto Earth and all life, not just human life, ALL life would have been killed and Ultron would have had it all to himself. You....are....welcome. As for Wakanda.....yea you got me there. Brock mentioned Bucky and I lost focus and didn't notice the bomb on him. But if Wanda had not thrown him up in the air like she did, there would have been a much higher body count and a few leveled buildings. I take the hit for that one. Don't punish Wanda because she had to try and clean a mess that I started because of something I did.
(Fast forward to the end of Civil War when Cap has his shield in Tony's chest)
