Government Ignorance in the MCU (Fun post, don't take to seriously please)

Is it me or does the government not understand what they say half time or spout off half cocked when shaking their fingers at Nick Furry and the Avengers? It's always bothered me since the first Thor movie how characters approach getting a grip on the supers.
To start off this little rant of mine we're going to start with the Avengers when Nick is talking to the Security Council. The Avengers have just saved the world and there are cuts to the Avengers (Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Bruce Banner [Hulk]) walking detained Loki to a location to head back to Asgard with the Tezzeract. The council asks where Loki is and Nick informs them that Thor took Loki back to Asgard and they reply "That wasn't your call. He needs to answer for his war crimes." WHAT IN THE BLUE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO TO A NORSE GOD THAT CAN MAKE PHANTASMS OF HIMSELF!?!?!?! And let's not forget that really important adjective when talking about Loki, GOD!!

Seriously! It would take Loki a total of seconds to escape any prison here on Earth. I know some is thinking "Well Alex, he was in Hulk's cell until his mind altered lackeys saved him" Bitch please, Loki was there to screw with everyone and make sure the Avengers were in disarray so they wouldn't screw with his plans (well that worked out huh?) Also you really think Loki couldn't have gotten away from all those guards when he was being escorted to the cell? Going back even farther, SPOILER ALERT!! the staff Loki has, has an Infinity Gem in it, sorry he would have kicked Caps AND Ironman's ass in a second if he so felt inclined.

But that's Loki's weakness, he likes to cat and mouse his prey.
ANY WHO!! Onwards to Captain America: Civil War, I love ranting about this scene. SO!! when Secretary of State Ross comes to Avengers headquarters he is there to let them know of the Sokovia Accords. Ross goes on saying "Thanks for your service, we owe you a debt, blah blah blah blah. But you guys are vigilantes and need to be in check, here's why (click) New York (getting blown to shit)

"OOOOK!!!! Cap want to chime in on the alternatives to that? Everytime I watch that scene this is the dialogue in my head:

Cap: Alright there Mr. "Thunderbolt" Ross let's look at the otherside of all this starting with New York. So let's just say we lost? We would be under a worldly dictatorship by an insane Norse God. That nuclear missile that was directed at the island of Manhattan? Don't stand there and look like you don't know what I'm talking about. Would have leveled the island and don't get me started on the radiation poisoning to the rest of the state. Yea, how would that have helped when the aliens were coming out of a HOLE IN SPACE!!!! Yea, shall I continue on the matter? No, ok onto Washington. You're welcome there buster!! Do you even know what was going to happen if Sam, Hill, and I hadn't had those helicarriers shoot themselves down? Well for one thing everyone in this room to say the very VERY least would be six feet under in a box. OK! Yea that lake was destroyed and now a cleaning crew needs to take care of all that but hey, at least only a lake needs to be cleaned out and you can shake your finger at us saying "You guys bad bad messes, now Ross needs to clean up after you boo hoo." So again, you're welcome. (Turns to look at Tony) YOU!!!! I blame Sokovia on you! If you had talked to us, UP UP UP UP!!! Don't, Don't even! Boo Hoo yes you would have gotten the "Man wasn't meant to meddle medley" well guess what. The world wouldn't have to rehouse an entire city because you didn't wanna listen to reason. (Turns back to Ross) NOW! Yes that was TONY'S fault, no one here is taking any blame for that one. I wanted to tear him a new one after the party which we had because we finally retrieved Loki's scepter OOOOH! but what happened (Turns to Tony) Ultron took it! (Turns back around) So Tony is to blame for that one. NOW!! Yes yes yes, many lives were lost and the world is one city short. What if we had just let Ultron to his devices and let his plan unfold? Again, we would all be dead. A city sized meteor would have crashed onto Earth and all life, not just human life, ALL life would have been killed and Ultron would have had it all to himself. You....are....welcome. As for Wakanda.....yea you got me there. Brock mentioned Bucky and I lost focus and didn't notice the bomb on him. But if Wanda had not thrown him up in the air like she did, there would have been a much higher body count and a few leveled buildings. I take the hit for that one. Don't punish Wanda because she had to try and clean a mess that I started because of something I did.
(Fast forward to the end of Civil War when Cap has his shield in Tony's chest)
If you hadn't made Ultron! This guy wouldn't have pinned us against each other!!

Now that I've gotten that off m chest, I hope you enjoyed reading it and HappyMerry ChristmaHanaQuanzika!!

Marvel Comics Civil War v. Marvel Cinematic Universe Civil War

As a comic book reader and someone who loves to go to conventions, I find it very humorous and sometimes frustrating when I'm at a convention or store and someone walks in and this conversation takes place:

Customer: Excuse me, I would like to to buy the Captain America: Civil War comic books
Store Employee: I'm sorry sir, but there is no comic book with that title but we do have (grabs a complete put together collection of Civil War) this.
Customer: That's cool but that's not CAPTAIN AMERICA: Civil War, that's just Civil War.
Store Employee: Yes sir, I understand what you're saying but what I'm trying to tell you is that there is no comic book, graphic novel, or series titled Captain America: Civil War
Customer: But I just watched Captain America: Civil War which is based on comic books, so there for you don't know what you are talking about or you don't know the books exist.
Store Employee: Excuse me sir but the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the comic books are very different. The movies are loosely based on the comics, have their own stories, and change plots and characters to make the story work for the movie studios.
And the conversation goes on and on until one of three conclusions happen:
- The information finally clicks in the customers mind and buys the comics bundle
- Customer understands and doesn't want to buy the bundle
- Customer gets pissed off because he/she doesn't understand and storms out of the store

The reason for this blog is to help those who have not read the comic books and would like to know the similarities and differences of the movie and comic series. For writings sake I'm only going to compare the beginning because one, Im just now starting to write and that's quite a bit for me to compare the whole story, and two that would be a lot to read.

Marvel Comics Civil War:

- The Comics: The Story begins with a group of teenage supers called "The New Warriors" have their own reality tv show taking down a group of bad guys. One of the members spots a very powerful super named Nitro and suggests that the group attempts to take him out. The fight ends with Nitro using his power blowing up several city blocks which included a school. The casualties were upwards to 600 people including children.

-MCU Civil War: (Skipping mission report December 16, 1991)
Captain America, Black Widow, The Falcon, and Scarlet Witch are looking for Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones. They group thinks that Crossbones was going to hit the police station but in fact his target was a chemical warehouse. Crossbones and his men hit the warehouse and obtain an unknown chemical. A skirmish takes place until Crossbones tells the remaining men who weren't taken out by Captain America and his friends to take the chemical and split up. Widow and Falcon take on the lackeys while Captain takes on Crossbones alone. Black Widow (with the help of Redwing) obtains the chemical. Captain America and Crossbones duke it out until Cap finally wears out Crossbones. Crossbones falls on his knees, takes off his helmet, and then Cap picks him up. Crossbones mentions Bucky and Cap tries to intimidate as much info out of him. But Crossbones was using Bucky as a distraction to blow up Cap but when Crossbones detonates the bomb Scarlet Witch uses her powers to conceal the blast. In an attempt to save the people around them she throws Crossbones and the concealed blast into the air but the blast is to much to handle and it takes out a section of the building resulting in many casualties.

In both the comics and the movies both events are the linchpin in the government deciding to start the superhuman registration act. The differences also being the movie Civil War reflects back on the events in Avengers in New York, Captain America in Washington, and Avengers: AOU* Zekovia, and the incident with Scarlet Witch blowing up the building. In the comics it focused more on the mutants New Warriors and their carelessness taking on villains they had no business confronting and the overall fear of mutants.

I like movies, comic books, tv shows, and just about anything geeky

Hello there!!!! I see you have found my blog! Thanks for taking the time to read it! My name is Alex Knaak. I live in Bakersfield, CA where it's pretty much hot eight of the twelve months of the year. I'm 24 and love comics and movies. I wanted to start this blog because my friends and family have really encouraged me to do it because of all the information I have accumulated over the years from reading, discussing, and researching.  Now I know a lot about what I love but there is to much out there for me to know everything. So here's are a few characters I love and why:

1) Captain America

There is something about his 40s mentality and old fashioned way of thinking that just makes the character fun for me. The simple yet elegant stars and stripes outfit tell the story of how much he loves his country and how he will stop at nothing to make sure that his country stays free for all, no matter what race, religion, or color.

2) Batman

Now before you role your eyes and skip this one read a little bit why I love this character. It's more about Batman's villains why I love reading this character. If you look deep enough, almost all of Batman's most formidable foes are a reflection of his mind. Two-Face is the constant battle Bruce Wayne has with himself trying to determine if he is really Bruce Wayne putting a mask on at night or Batman hanging up his cape to be a billionaire playboy during the day. The Penguin is what Bruce would have become if his wealth and power had corrupted him. Clayface is the representation of the many faces that Bruce puts on as a detective to solve his cases. The Riddler is the representation of the constant riddle of whether or not what he does as Batman truly has an affect on Gotham and is it doing anything. The Joker is of course the representation of what he would become is he finally broke and decided to kill those he hunts.

3) Thanos

There is a lot more to Thanos than just the Mad Titan who obsesses over the awesome power of the Infinity Gauntlet.  Thanos has an obsession with embodiment of Death, Mistress Death.  Thanos was resurrected by his love a few years after he fell at the hands of Adam Warlock to perform a mission: Destroy half of the universes' sentient life.  With no hesitation he accepted his mission.  In the events of Thanos Quest, Silver Surfer, and the epic 6-issue story The Infinity Gauntlet you learn a lot about how Thanos truly feels about Mistress Death and his strategic genius.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I loved making it :)
